Two main principles should guide your time management:
Find what works for you.
You may be a Palm Pilot type, or a Weekly Planner type. You may be helped and reassured by detailed lists of things to do, or you may loathe the mere idea of lists.
Frankly, we think you need some kind of list—you need an overview of the chores to be accomplished.
Break things down into manageable pieces.
When a chore is overwhelming in scope, or we don’t even know how to proceed, we put it off. Even if you can’t spell out every little task of some huge project (like a research paper), try to determine the next two or three small steps.
Try following the Time Management Instructions below to create a schedule for yourself based on your priorities, goals, and actual day-to-day accomplishments.
